We had to notch two tiles around an existing air vent and a track light. A sharp utility knife cuts through the polyester fiber easily. The edges are clean, no crumbling like the old mineral fiber tiles we took down.

The outer shipping box arrived with a crushed corner and some tape patches. I was worried tiles inside were cracked. Opened it up and every tile was individually wrapped in plastic and in perfect condition. Just better packaging would make this 5 stars.

We had a plain white drop ceiling in our living room. Swapped in the black tiles and the whole room got a modern, moody feel. The wood panel walls and gray couch now pop against the dark ceiling. Neighbors keep asking who did the install.

I was expecting thin flimsy panels. These are 0.36 inch thick, solid polyester fiber with a felt-like texture. They feel substantial, not cheap. Dropped right into the standard 15/16 inch grid with a snug fit.

We finally got our home theater ceiling right. The old white tiles reflected the projector light all over the room. Swapped in these black acoustic tiles and the glare is gone completely. The matte black surface just disappears when the lights are low. Sound in the room is tighter too - echo dropped noticeably.

Measure your grid before ordering. We have 2x4 ft grid sections but accidentally ordered the 2x2 ft tiles. They still fit but we had to piece two together per section. Not the product's fault - just double check your grid size. Quality is great.
