Covered our basement ceiling in a weekend

We replaced old water-stained ceiling tiles with these white slat PVC tiles. They dropped right into our existing 2x2 grid. The 3D slat pattern adds way more texture than plain flat tiles. The whole basement looks brighter and cleaner now.

Enjoy the basement, Greg!

Cut cleanly with a utility knife

I was worried cutting PVC would be a mess, but a sharp utility knife scored the slats and they snapped clean. No chipping, no cracked edges. Used a straight edge as a guide. Much easier than cutting drywall or hardboard.

Perfect fit for our 2x2 grid basement

We have an older drop ceiling with 2x2 grid squares, not the standard 2x4. These tiles fit exactly into our existing grid no trimming needed for the main area. The black slat design looks so much better than the old water-stained white tiles. Our basement already feels like a different room.

So glad it fit your 2x2 grid, Sarah!

Waterproof used in our bathroom

We were worried about bathroom humidity, but these are fully waterproof PVC. They've been up in our bathroom ceiling for two months and no warping, no sagging, no mold. The black color hides the dirt and dust that always showed on white tiles. Highly recommend for high-moisture rooms.

Glad they're holding up in the humidity, David!

Looks expensive but it's DIY

I priced out real wood slat ceiling tiles at a specialty store and they were crazy expensive. These PVC tiles look almost identical at a fraction of the cost. The texture is convincing from the floor you can't tell it's not real wood. Saved thousands.

Great value call, Chris!

Used on an accent wall too

Didn't just use these on the ceiling we put a section up on the wall behind our bed as a headboard accent. The slat design adds so much depth to the room. They're rigid enough to glue directly to the wall. People think we hired a carpenter.

That's creative, Tyler! Wall accent looks great.

24-pack covers a small room perfectly

We have a small bedroom and one 24-pack was exactly the right amount to cover the whole ceiling. No leftover waste, no last-minute ordering extra tiles. The coverage math on the listing was accurate. Nice not to have to do complicated calculations.

Durable survived a winter

We live in a climate with cold winters and the basement can get damp. These tiles have been up for a full year through the seasons and still look brand new. No warping, no sagging, no discoloration. The PVC material really holds up.

That's the durability you want, Lisa!

Waterproof in the bathroom

Installed these in our bathroom drop ceiling and they've handled months of shower steam with zero warping or discoloration. PVC doesn't absorb moisture like mineral fiber. Wipes clean easily. The slat design hides the grid lines nicely.

Lightweight but look substantial

These tiles are surprisingly light - one person can hold a whole stack. But once in the grid, the 3D slat profile makes them look thick and expensive. Visitors thought we hired a professional ceiling contractor.

Paintable - we tinted ours warm white

The listing says paintable so we rolled on a slightly warm white to match our trim. The paint adhered well to the PVC surface with light sanding first. Now they blend seamlessly with our room's color palette.

Great upgrade for our home theater

Put these up in our home theater and the black finish looks amazing with the recessed LED lighting. The 3D slat texture catches the light beautifully on screen. Covered all the old popcorn ceiling stains from years ago. Did it myself in a couple of hours.

Home theater looks awesome, Mike!

Used as wall paneling in our home office

We got creative and glued these slat tiles onto an office feature wall instead of the ceiling. Construction adhesive on a painted drywall surface. The vertical slats look like custom millwork but cost a fraction. Easy to install for a DIYer.

Creative use, Nancy!

Scissors cut them easily

I was pleasantly surprised how easy these are to cut. Just regular household scissors trimmed them down to fit around our ceiling vent and smoke detector. No special tools needed. Lightweight enough to hold up one-handed while positioning. Perfect for a DIY weekend project.

Class A fire rated for the garage

We converted our garage into a home gym and needed fire-rated ceiling tiles. These PVC tiles are Class A fire-rated. Peace of mind with the space heater and equipment. The white slats brighten up what was a dark garage.

24-pack covered our small kitchen

One box of 24 tiles covered our kitchen drop ceiling with a few spares for the utility closet. At 96 square feet per box, the math works out. The slat design catches the pendant light beautifully at night.

Lightweight one person can do it alone

These tiles are surprisingly light compared to the mineral fiber ones they replaced. I was able to carry them and lift them into the grid by myself, no second set of hands needed. The whole garage conversion took a Saturday afternoon. Great for solo DIYers.

Fit our old grid but needed minor trimming

Our existing ceiling grid was slightly out of square from the 90s. Most tiles dropped in perfectly, but two needed a trim on one edge to seat flush. A quick score with a utility knife fixed it. Overall easy install.

One tile arrived scratched

The packaging was good but one tile had a scratch across the slats from shipping. We used that tile as the cut piece around the light fixture so the scratch ended up hidden. Rest of the box was flawless. Just inspect on delivery.

Sorry about the scratch, Patricia!

Paint them any color you want

We wanted a custom dark gray instead of pure black, so we sprayed these with PVC primer and matte gray paint. They turned out beautifully! The slat texture holds paint really well. Now our ceiling matches our kitchen cabinets perfectly.

Love that custom color, Jessica!

Covers the ugly ceiling perfectly

Our rental apartment had a really ugly, dated drop ceiling. These tiles slotted right in and completely covered the old stained ones. No drilling, no permanent changes just swap them in. Landlord will never know and I can take them when I move.

Renter-friendly upgrade, Stephanie!

Cutting around lights takes patience

These tiles look great and the black finish is exactly what we wanted. Just fair warning cutting notches around recessed lights and vent covers took a little more time than I expected. Need to measure twice and cut slowly. The end result is worth it.

Good tip, Rachel! Measuring twice saves headaches.

Looks clean in our small office

We have a tiny home office that felt cramped with the old white ceiling tiles. These black tiles added a modern, sleek look and actually make the room feel more designed. Clients who come on Zoom always comment on the ceiling. Such a simple upgrade with big impact.

Easy to clean

Dust settles on any ceiling, but these smooth PVC tiles just need a quick wipe with a damp cloth to look new again. The slat texture is actually easier to clean than flat tiles because you can run a microfiber duster along the grooves. No more stained, dusty ceilings.

One tile was bent in shipping

Everything arrived well packaged and 23 out of 24 tiles were in perfect shape. One had a slight bend from the box pressure, but I just placed it on a section where it flexed back into shape once in the grid. Not a big deal for the price.

Sorry about the bent tile, Nancy! Glad it straightened out.
