Our basement office had old cream tiles with black grid bars that looked dirty and mismatched. Snapped these black covers right over the existing T-bars - no tools, no removal. The ceiling looks intentional now instead of neglected. Took about an hour for one room.
Glad it worked, Mark!
Our 1980s kitchen had the original drop ceiling with rusted brown grid bars. The white covers snapped right on and instantly brightened the whole space. We cut a couple pieces with tin snips to fit around the fluorescent light. Night and day difference.
Put black covers on the grid and added blue LED strip lighting above the wall panels. The dark grid disappears under the lights and the ceiling looks custom. Friends thought we hired someone.
Our home bar had a 70s drop ceiling with white grid against the exposed brick. We went with black covers for a moody speakeasy vibe. The contrast with the brick wall and wood trim is exactly what we wanted.
We have a projector mounted to the ceiling and old white tiles. The black covers make the ceiling disappear when the lights are low - no more bright grid lines distracting during movies. Worth every penny.
Our old grid had brown rust stains that bled through the white tiles over the years. Instead of tearing out the ceiling, we clipped these white covers over the T-bars. The rust is completely hidden. Did I mention no mess?
Installation itself is easy - just press over the T-bar. I'd recommend wearing work gloves the edges can be a little sharp when handling a lot of pieces at once. Otherwise no issues. Covers fit standard 15/16 inch grid perfectly.
Good tip about the gloves!
We have a ceiling fan and a light fixture in the living room that surrounded the old silver grid. White covers made the whole ceiling look cohesive with the white tiles. Had to notch a couple pieces around the fan mount but that was expected.
We painted our theater walls dark charcoal and the old silver grid bars stuck out like a sore thumb. The black covers snap on and now the ceiling blends with the dark walls and projector screen. Movie night atmosphere is 10x better.
I was skeptical about peel-and-stick anything on a ceiling, but these just clip over the T-bar with a press. No glue, no screws, no special tools. If we ever move we can pop them right off. Perfect for renters.
The white complete set came with both main covers and wall covers. We have an 8x12 foot room and it covered every T-bar including the perimeter wall molding. No need to buy extra pieces separately.
We had to trim several pieces to fit around the bathroom exhaust vent and a smoke detector. A pair of tin snips cuts through the PVC cleanly. The material is waterproof so no worry about steam in the bathroom.
I measured our T-bars before ordering and they are the standard 15/16 inch. These covers fit snugly with no wobble. Compatible with both our 2x2 and 2x4 grid sections. One pack covered about half our basement.
We rent a house with an ugly drop ceiling in the basement. Instead of fighting the landlord about replacing it, we clipped these white covers on. If we move, they pop off without damaging the grid. No holes, no paint, no fuss.
The black covers are a very dark charcoal rather than a true matte black. If you're going for a pitch-black theater ceiling you may want to paint them. They still look way better than the silver grid. Four stars for the color not being dead-on.
We used the white covers in our bathroom remodel. No warping or discoloration from shower steam after a few months. Wipes clean easily. Much cheaper than replacing the whole ceiling system.
I checked the specs because this is going in our garage workshop. These PVC covers are flame retardant and waterproof. The material feels sturdy not flimsy like cheap vinyl. Snaps on tight over the existing grid.
We have a large rec room with the theater area and a bar area. We used black covers over the theater side and white covers over the bar side. The transition looks intentional and zoneed the room perfectly.
The 20-pack of black covers sounds like a lot but a typical bedroom uses roughly 25-30 pieces depending on grid layout. We had to order a second pack. Measure your T-bar length first. Product itself is great just order enough.
Good measurement reminder!
We had an old yellowed fluorescent light panel with grimy grid around it. The white covers around the fixture made the whole light assembly look clean and new. The kitchen feels brighter now.
At the T-junctions where main and cross bars meet, the covers need a firm squeeze to seat fully. One corner on our install had a tiny gap until I pushed on it harder. Not a defect just an install tip. Otherwise perfect.
We had a dated basement with stained beige tiles and rusted grid. Instead of dropping thousands on a new ceiling, we spent under $100 on white grid covers and a couple cans of spray paint for the tiles. Huge improvement for the money.
We had to work around a smoke detector and a square exhaust vent. Just measure and cut with tin snips. The PVC is thin enough to cut in minutes. The covers don't interfere with the vent airflow.
Our home theater now has a seamless black ceiling. Before, the silver grid lines were distracting during bright scenes. The black covers disappear. Guests ask if we reinstalled a custom ceiling.
The white covers have a slight sheen rather than a flat matte finish. Our ceiling tiles are matte so in direct light you can tell the difference. Still looks clean and bright. Worth knowing before you buy.
A lot of grid cover products only sell the main T-bar covers and you have to deal with the perimeter wall molding yourself. This white kit includes wall covers that snap over the angle iron at the wall. Finished look all the way to the edges.
